June 3 will be our annual banquet
Samantha Cataldo, Assistant Curator at Currier Museum of Art, Manchester, N.H.
“Samantha’s broad experiences in contemporary art, both as a curator and scholar, combined with her knowledge of the regional and national art communities will be an enormous asset to the Currier,” said Andrew Spahr, director of collections and exhibitions. “We are thrilled to continue our contemporary art exhibitions, which have brought attention to New England artists such as Cristi Rinklin, Abigail Anne Newbold and Andrew Witkin.”
Most recently, Cataldo was the Koch Curatorial Fellow at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Mass. She is curator of their current exhibition, Integrated Vision: Science, Nature, and Abstraction in the Art of Len Gittleman and György Kepes. At the deCordova, she supported the chief curator through research, wrote interpretive text for exhibitions and works of art, and trained museum guides.
Cataldo has served in editorial capacities at the deCordova and for Public Art Dialogue, an affiliate of the College Art Association. She has written, or contributed to, a number of exhibition catalogues and brochures, and also authored book articles and conference papers. Cataldo earned an M.A. in art history and museum studies from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in art history from Providence College in Rhode Island.
